【中学校】English Speech Contest
11月16日（水）、中学校English Speech Contestを開催しました。
昨年までは2学年のみで開催していましたが、今年からは1～3年全員そろっての開催となりました。それぞれの学年で、ＧＣ（Global Communication）の授業で準備を重ね、予選を経て、本選が行われました。
トップバッターは3年生。それぞれの「My Hero」を自作の動画も使いながら、熱く語ります。ウォルト・ディズニーや、アニメ制作者、スポーツ選手など、それぞれのヒーローを英語で紹介しました。3年生らしく、英文も発音もすばらしいものでした。
続いては、2年生。「Speech」「Recitation」「Skit」の3部門、それぞれ自分の夢や本の暗唱を英語で行います。Skitは、自分たちで考えたショートストーリーを英語で披露します。二人の掛け合いに会場中が笑いに包まれる瞬間もありました。どの生徒も個性豊かに、そして生き生きと語ることができました。
今回は先日選考が行われた1年生代表も出場。元気いっぱいに大きな声で英語の暗唱をしました。先輩たちも、後輩の頑張りをあたたかく見守りました。
最後は、延校長先生、山下教頭先生のSkitが披露され、大いに会場が盛り上がりました。管理職の先生も生徒に交じって、英語を楽しむことで、生徒のみなさんをしっかりと後押ししていきます。

18th Eishin Junior High English Presentation Contest
This week, on Wednesday the 16th of November, Eishin Junior High school assembled for the yearly Eishin English Contest.
In previous years, the contest involved 2nd grade students presenting to their peers as well as their juniors. This year however, 3rd grade students also made an appearance.
All throughout October and into November, 3rd grade students researched their heroes and put together a presentation about them. Students presented about all kinds of people, from famous actors to beautiful models. Some students presented about athletes. One student also presented about a teacher!
During the same period, 2nd graders were busy preparing speeches, remembering poems as well as creating skits to perform at the contest.
Students put countless hours into their presentations and, if you were lucky enough to be there, you could see the effort from all the participants.
I’m very much looking forward to the contest next year. It will be exciting to see what next year’s contestants can do.
